The International Tennis Federation (ITF) released the entry lists for the Tokyo Olympics on Thursday which include players like Serbia\u2019s Novak Djokovic, Switzerland\u2019s Roger Federer, Japan\u2019s Naomi Osaka, and Australia\u2019s Ash Barty.<\/p>\n
As the ITF noted, though: \u201cThe entry lists are still subject to change.\u201d Federer, for example, stated this weekend that he will decide whether or not to travel to Japan after Wimbledon concludes on July 11.<\/span><\/p>\n Djokovic has stated that he wants to achieve the Golden Slam, which has only been accomplished by Steffi Graf in 1988 when she won all four major tennis events and the Olympic singles gold medal in the same year. He won the Australian Open in February and the French Open last month, and he is slated to play in the third round of Wimbledon on Friday.<\/p>\n After withdrawing from the French Open after the first round to take a mental health sabbatical, Osaka will compete in the Olympics for the first time.\u00a0The Summer Games begin on July 23, and the tennis competition, which will be held on hard courts, will start the next day.<\/span><\/p>\n The rankings from June 14 are used to determine eligibility.
