The World\u2019s leading tennis player Ash Barty will lead her national team Australia\u2019s biggest tennis team in Tokyo as the country is waiting for its medal for 17 years at the games. Along with her, the men\u2019s world number one, Alex de Minaur, Nick Kyrgios and Sam Stosur are on board on her fifth Games. She will also become Australia\u2019s first Indigenous tennis Olympian.<\/p>\n
She said in a video released by Tennis Australia, \u201d It\u2019s something I\u2019ve always dreamt of and I\u2019m super excited to get out there and represent the green and gold. It is a massive united team and I can\u2019t wait to be a part of it.\u201d Ash Barty, Alex Minaur, Stosur and John Millman will be available for both singles and doubles. Only Kyrgios will compete in singles.<\/p>\n
The two Rio Olympians Millman and John Peers are double specialist and they returned for their second Games as Australia is aiming to win their first medal since Alicia Molik won a bronze medal in women singles at Athens in 2004. Alicia will captain the women\u2019s team including Ajla Tomljanovic in the singles, and Storm Sanders and Ellen Perez for doubles.
