Former England striker Wayne Rooney has criticised a senior Liverpool forward for his recent public comments, claiming the player is \u201cdestroying his legacy\u201d at Anfield. Speaking to BBC Sport, Rooney said the remarks \u2014 made after Liverpool\u2019s disappointing result last night,\u00a0 were \u201cunacceptable\u201d and showed disrespect to his teammates, manager, and fans.<\/p>\n
Rooney believes new Liverpool manager Arne Slot must take strong action to maintain dressing-room authority. \u201cArne Slot has to show his authority, pull him in and say, \u2018you are not travelling with the team, what you said is not acceptable\u2019,\u201d Rooney said, insisting the situation demands an immediate response from the Dutch coach.<\/p>\n
