The 33-year-old takes charge of the Hatters in what will be his first full-time managerial role in senior football.<\/p>\n<p>Wilshere, who began his youth career at Luton before joining Arsenal at the age of nine, expressed his delight at returning to where it all started. \u201cIt feels like a full-circle moment for me. I was eight when I first came to Luton as a boy, so I guess you could say it\u2019s fate that my first full-time club managerial position is at this club,\u201d said Wilshere in his first interview as Luton boss.<\/p>\n<p>The former England international retired from professional football in 2022 after an injury-plagued career that saw him make over 190 senior appearances, primarily for Arsenal and Bournemouth. Following his retirement, Wilshere began coaching Arsenal\u2019s Under-18s, leading them to the FA Youth Cup final in 2023.
