The third ODI between India and Australia was played on Wednesday at Canberra. The Aussies had already won the series in the second ODI beating India by 51 runs. The third ODI was a regulation match for Australian team and hence saw many changes in the team. David Warner who suffered injury in the second ODI was already ruled out from all the white ball matches remaining. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc were rested for the game. The three changes in the side for the Australian team were Ashton Agar, Sean Abbott and the debutant Cameron Green. India won the toss for the first time in this series and elected to bat first. India gave a par score of 303 for the Australian team to chase in their 50 overs. This total was possible due to brilliance of Kohli, Pandya and Jadeja who all score 60, 92 and 66 respectively.<\/p>\n
Australian chase began with well but they lost their opener for this match Marnus Labuschagne when the team total was at 25. Natarajan who was playing his debut match got this wicket.<\/p>\n
The team was in a tricky position as they had lost their inform player Steve Smith and the experienced all rounder Moises Henriques in a quick succession. That is when the debutant Cameron Green walked in to join his skipper in the chase. The score when Green came in was 117-3. It was a tense situation in the game and for a debutant to face this situation was a huge task. In a press conference later, he revealed that he got motivation from KL Rahul who was keeping at that time. He said that KL asked him if he was nervous or not. He replied that he was nervous a little bit. Rahul replied him saying \u201cgo well youngster\u201d. Green was in awe of Rahul due to this move by him. He said that he\u2019ll never forget this moment. He\u2019ll always cherish it and will never forget this encouragement.<\/p>\n
Green got out on 21 off 27 deliveries, before getting out he scored a boundary and hit a maximum to deep mid wicket to Jadeja\u2019s bowling. He was dismissed by the Indian Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav. Jadeja\u2019s brilliant catching in the deep made this wicket possible.<\/p>\n
Australia eventually lost the game by 13 runs.<\/p>\n
