Babar Azam, the newly appointed Pakistan\u2019s captain has pledged working on finishing matches from crunch situation. The batsman revealed in an interview that he\u2019s trying to improve his match-finishing aspects of his game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI agree that when a player is set, he should finish the match. I wasn\u2019t able to finish the match against Zimbabwe despite scoring a hundred and I think we lost that match because of me. But I\u2019m trying to improve my this part of batting, which was also evident in PSL. Hopefully in future, I won\u2019t repeat the same mistake,\u201d said Babar Azam.<\/p>\n
Babar Azam had to face a lot of criticism from fans as well as from players in Pakistan during their team\u2019s 3rd ODI against Zimbabwe. He replied to this criticism with two masterful displays of in the PSL playoffs, which led to Karachi Kings win their maiden title.<\/p>\n
Babar has now headed to New Zealand for his first major project as a Pakistani skipper. Talking about the upcoming tour, Babar Azam believes that his side will perform well in New Zealand.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are confident ahead of the series against New Zealand, and hopefully we will put on a good show. We have a good record against New Zealand, both home and away. Our team is performing well and there is a combination of junior and senior players. We want to utilise this opportunity and make a solid team for the upcoming T20 World Cup\u201d, added Babar Azam.<\/p>\n
Explaining further, Babar Azam opined that his captaincy pressure won\u2019t affect his batting in the upcoming series. He also feels expectations that the fan have on him will help him boost his confidence rather than causing pressures.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople have high expectations of me but I this does not put me under pressure as I use it to build confidence. Also, I don\u2019t think the burden of the captaincy will affect my batting because I try to keep both things separate\u201d further added.<\/p>\n
