At the ISSF shooting World Cup here on Monday, Olympic aspirant Rahi Sarnobat won the women\u2019s 25m pistol gold medal, but adolescent phenom Manu Bhaker finished seventh in the same event.<\/p>\n
Sarnobat\u2019s gold is India\u2019s first in the current edition after the country had previously won one silver and two bronze medals.<\/p>\n
30-year-old Sarnobat recorded a final score of 39 after qualifying second with a total of 591 points.\u00a0In the final, she had flawless scores in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth series highlighting her outstanding performance.<\/p>\n
Mathilde Lamolle of France won silver in the final with a score of 31.<\/p>\n
Sarnobat qualified for the finals by shooting a 296 in the rapid fire round on Monday.
\nOn Sunday, she had an accuracy score of 295, which was similarly amazing.<\/p>\n
Bhaker qualified third with a total of 588 points after firing a 296 in the rapid fire round on Monday after an amazing 292 in the accuracy round the day before.<\/p>\n
However, with a poor score of 11, she was eliminated early in the final losing a shoot-off to Bulgaria\u2019s Viktoria Chaika.<\/p>\n
For the 10m air pistol mixed team silver, Bhaker paired up with Saurabh Chaudhary.
\nShe had previously won bronze with Sarnobat and Yashaswini Deswal in the women\u2019s 10m air pistol team event.\u00a0Chaudhary had previously won bronze in the men\u2019s 10m air pistol individual event.<\/p>\n
