Ashwin has been a part of the Test team but has fallen out of favour in the shorter format. Both his last ODIs and T20s were vs the West Indies in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>In T20 internationals, he has picked up 52 wickets in 46 matches at an average of 22.94 and an economy of 6.98 per over.<\/p>\n<p>Ashwin took 13 wickets in 15 matches this year in the IPL at an average of 30.08 and an economy of 7.66 per over with his best figures being 3\/29 in Qualifier 1 vs the Mumbai Indians.<\/p>\n<p>Kaif expressed his opinion on Ashwin\u2019s inclusion in the T20 squad via his official Twitter account.
