However, they faced tough competition from the Copa America champions, currently ranked ninth globally. In this event, the Lionesses will bid to become World Champions for the first time in their history. It was a tale of two halves after England dominated the first 45 minutes, but Brazil came out fighting in the second half scoring the equaliser in the dying minutes of average time. England\u2019s Chloe Kelly scored the winning penalty to win the first-ever women\u2019s Finalissima.<\/p>\n<p data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"6a23f232-6356-45e5-8e7a-05a7901ec3f6\">England manager Sarina Wiegman says that her victory over Brazil in the first-ever women\u2019s \u2018Finalissima\u2019 was a great learning experience in preparation for the World Cup this summer.\u00a0\u201cGreat learning. Lots of learning from us in preparation for the World Cup. Learning is nice, but we want to win this one too. I feel privileged. I\u2019m thrilled to be working here. They are such an incredible group. The team is so committed; they want to learn every day.\u201d She said to ITV Sport.<\/p>\n<p data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"d2f45cc5-6af3-4c8b-95d6-28fbfbc4e09e\">Wiegman has already led England to plenty of silverware, overseeing last year\u2019s Euros triumph and back-to-back Clark Cup victories.
