Chelsea\u2019s pursuit of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has come to an end.<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old international from Portugal wants to quit the team and a transfer to Stamford Bridge has been mentioned.
\nHowever, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel stated that his \u201cfocus is on defence\u201d after bringing in former Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has also stated that Ronaldo is \u201cin our plans\u201d and \u201cnot for sale.\u201d<\/p>\n
The attacker has not yet travelled with Manchester United on their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia due to \u201cpersonal issues,\u201d according to Ten Hag.<\/p>\n
Tuchel responded to a question from BBC Sport<\/em> on Wednesday concerning Ronaldo\u2019s potential suitors saying \u201cRonaldo\u2019s career speaks for himself,\u201d the manager said as reported by BBC Sports. <\/em>He further said, \u201cI know there are rumours out there but I will not start speaking about other top clubs\u2019 top players.\u201d<\/p>\n Sterling, an England international, is reportedly a star acquisition for Chelsea\u2019s new owners, who are reportedly thrilled with his hiring.
