Australia\u2019s legendary former skipper, Steve Waugh\u2019s manager, Harley Medcalf has provided financial aid to 100 physically challenged cricketers. The PCCAI (Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India) announced this news on Thursday adding that the aid was being given out to help these players and provide some sort of relief in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
PCCAI secretary Ravi Chauhan said each cricketer was provided an amount of Rs 5000.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach player was given Rs 5000 during the ongoing tough times,\u201d Chauhan told PTI.<\/p>\n
The association further aims to extend its support to 400 physically challenged cricketers in need of help.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe overall aim is to support 400 physically challenged cricketers. PCCAI would like to thank Harley Medcalf, Anand Chukka and one Praveen Nalla for their unrelenting support to this cause,\u201d PCCAI said in a statement.<\/p>\n
According to Chauhan, Medcalf and Chukka raised the funds, which were then distributed, while Nalla has been providing N-95 masks for the physically challenged cricketers.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpecial thanks to former Australia captain Steve Waugh for his support and encouragement to these boys,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
