UEFA announced on Friday that it has set aside 240 million euros ($260 million) as part of its rewards scheme to compensate clubs for releasing their players for national team events in the 2020-24 cycle.<\/p>\n
The club benefits programme is funded by the proceeds from the European Championship final tournament and is distributed to clubs who have helped UEFA stage all of its national team competitions successfully.
\nAccording to UEFA, a total of 200 million euros was distributed to 697 clubs from all 55 member associations following Euro 2020.
\nOn Thursday, the assigned budget for the next cycle was agreed upon by UEFA\u2019s executive committee.<\/p>\n
The UEFA Nations League 2020-21 and 2022-23, as well as the European qualifications for Euro 2024, will receive an additional 100 million euros from UEFA.<\/p>\n
