After a lot of rumours since the Russia-Ukraine military crisis, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has officially announced that he has set the club on sale. Through the official site of the club, he stated that following the club\u2019s best concern and \u201cin the current situation\u201d he has decided to \u201csell the club\u201d as he believes that it is in the \u201cbest interest of the club, the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Being very close to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, it was already anticipated that Abramovich had to sell the club. The money will be then donated to the victims of war in Ukraine as promised. One of the billionaires to bid for the club named Swiss businessman Hansjorg Wyss told a Swiss newspaper Blick,\u00a0<\/em>\u201cAbramovich is currently trying to sell all his villas in England. He also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly.\u201d The 86 year old further stated that he along with three others have got the offer to buy the club. Wyss is currently in wait to have a good opportunity and price as he told that the fee Abramovich has asked is way too much.<\/p>\n Other than Wyss, Todd Boehly, the American businessman, investor and philanthropist is someone who can be the next owner of the Blues. Chelsea is not something new for Todd, he had earlier in 2017 bid to buy it but his offer was rejected by the current owner. Todd also owns some percentage of the NBA\u2019s popular team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
