In an interview with Aakash Chopra on YouTube, Ex-Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar admitted that he purposely bowled a beamer to MS Dhoni during the second Test of the 2006 series against India in Faisalabad. He has admitted that he regrets doing so and later apologized to MS Dhoni.<\/p>\n
Talking of the game, Dhoni scored his maiden ODI and Test tons in his fifth match of each format. In the 2005-06 Test series, he scored 179 runs in three matches (average of 59.66), including a stunning 148-run knock.<\/p>\n
After a span of 14 years later, Akhtar confessed that he deliberately bowled the beamer to Dhoni, which was an act out of frustration. \u201cI think I had bowled an 8-9 over spell in Faisalabad. It was a quick spell and Dhoni scored 100. I purposely bowled a beamer to Dhoni and then apologized to him,\u201d Shoaib Akhtar told Aakash Chopra in the interview.<\/p>\n
