Officials in Sao Paulo said that the Brazilian police have arrested a man who they believe has hacked Brazilian footballer, Neymar\u2019s bank accounts and repeatedly stolen small sums of money, amounting to more than $40,000.<\/p>\n
Police said that the alleged was working at an unnamed bank where the Paris St Germain and Brazil player and his business manager father had accounts.<\/p>\n
As per Reuters, a police statement said that they arrested the 20-year-old on Wednesday for defrauding bank clients.<\/p>\n
Even though the police had not named the player in the statement, the officer in charge of the case said it was Neymar and explains how the alleged theft occurred to Brazilian TV show Brasil Urgente.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat did this lad do?\u201d said Fabio Pinheiro Lopes. \u201cHe got the password of his office colleague and stole small amounts of money from famous people with high net worth\u201d.<\/p>\n
These people did not notice. He made a transfer of 10000 reais ($1,912.59), then another of 10000, 20000, 500000 and the total had come to 200000.<\/p>\n
Lopes said that the account affected was of Neymar and his father likely managed the funds.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they discovered they called the bank. The bank reimbursed the victim and investigated who was behind it\u201d, he said as per Reuters.<\/p>\n
