{"id":10631,"date":"2021-07-20T18:37:44","date_gmt":"2021-07-20T13:07:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/?p=128312"},"modified":"2021-07-20T18:37:44","modified_gmt":"2021-07-20T13:07:44","slug":"marko-grujic-signs-for-porto-on-a-permanent-deal-from-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/football\/marko-grujic-signs-for-porto-on-a-permanent-deal-from-liverpool\/","title":{"rendered":"Marko Grujic signs for Porto on a permanent deal from Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Porto has signed midfielder Marko Grujic on a permanent deal from Liverpool.\u00a0<span style=\"text-transform: initial\">The 2020\/21 season was Grujic\u2019s first loan season with the Portuguese side, where he played 39 games and scored two goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In their statement on the club\u2019s website confirming the 25-year-old\u2019s departure, Liverpool said: \u201cEveryone at Liverpool FC thanks Marko for his contributions to the club and wishes him the best in his future career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An estimate put Liverpool\u2019s value on Grujic \u2013 who was part of their pre-season training camp in Austria \u2013 at around \u00a313m. A number of the Serie A clubs were looking at Grujic this summer, including Sassuolo in light of midfielder Manuel Locatelli leaving the club with Arsenal and Juventus reported being in a race to sign the Italian midfielder.<\/p>\n<p>The Serbia international was Jurgen Klopp\u2019s first signing after replacing Brendan Rodgers as manager at Liverpool. The Merseyside club signed him in January 2016 and he arrived at Anfield later that year from Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. The midfielder, however, never got into Klopp\u2019s first team and appeared in just 16 games for the Reds during his five years at the English club.
