{"id":10552,"date":"2021-07-08T21:26:38","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T15:56:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/?p=122541"},"modified":"2021-07-08T21:26:38","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T15:56:38","slug":"crystal-palace-complete-signing-of-reading-star-michael-olise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/sports\/football\/crystal-palace-complete-signing-of-reading-star-michael-olise\/","title":{"rendered":"Crystal Palace complete signing of Reading star Michael Olise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crystal Palace has completed the \u00a38m signing of Reading midfielder Michael Olise, who becomes the first signing of the new Patrick Vieira era.\u00a0<span style=\"text-transform: initial\">The 19-year-old is considered one of the best players in the Championship, he has been capped twice by France at U18 level, and now has the chance to prove himself in the Premier League with Palace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Several Premier League clubs expressed interest, but Palace advanced quickly to make Olise the first signing of Vieira\u2019s era, just four days into his tenure, and the striker signed a five-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>Olise said to the Daily Mail: \u201c<span style=\"text-transform: initial\">It\u2019s a big moment \u2013 Premier League football. It\u2019s a great club and I\u2019m very excited to be here. Good players, a good manager, so I\u2019m ready to start.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"text-transform: initial\">He is a left-footed star who is predominantly used behind the striker but is equally effective when playing on the right flank cutting inside into his stronger foot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a teenager, the Reading midfielder was a standout performer, scoring seven goals and making 12 assists in 46 league games.
