Defender, Kieran Trippier believes England have progressed since their 2018 World Cup semi-final defeat to Croatia and is relishing Euro 2020 semi-final clash with Denmark at Wembley. Trippier scored with an early free kick in the World Cup semi-final in Russia before Croatia struck twice to snatch an extra-time win.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think from the two years the team has changed a lot and we are in a position now where we just want to create our own history. That\u2019s all we want to do,\u201d Trippier said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are only maybe six or seven of us from that World Cup team, we have got so much good young talent now.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is there for everyone to see the attacking players we\u2019ve got and I think we\u2019ve taken that step forward from 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Nations League we were in the semi-final and now we are playing Denmark \u2013 we have made a real good progression over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gareth Southgate\u2019s side will take on Denmark at Wembley with the chance to reach the final of a major tournament for the first time since winning the 1966 World Cup.<\/p>\n
While talking about his former teammate, Christian Eriksen, Christian said: \u201cWe were on the coach, before the Croatia game. We saw it on the screens.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just important that he is here with us. He\u2019s getting better, he\u2019s making progress. It\u2019s just hard to put into words because I have played with him. I was close with Christian.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe most important thing is he is getting better. I messaged him. I didn\u2019t do it straight away, I messaged him through social media.<\/p>\n
