However, a shaky start to last season saw them drop to 13th, bringing the relationship to an end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you have a squad with quality and talent, we want to make the fans proud and enjoy,\u201d Nuno said. \u201cIt\u2019s an enormous pleasure and honor (to be here), there\u2019s joy and I\u2019m happy and looking forward to starting work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Tottenham ended in seventh place and Mourinho was sacked in April. Ryan Mason has been appointed as the club\u2019s interim manager until the end of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Following Mourinho\u2019s departure in April, Tottenham attempted to re-hire Mauricio Pochettino before focusing on Antonio Conte.<\/p>\n<p>After it became evident that Conte would not suit the criteria, talks were soon dropped and former Roma coach Paulo Fonseca, who Mourinho is replacing in the Italian city was set to take over.
