“When will India see such a situation?” Bombay HC asks the government after Wimbledon’s grand event without masks

As per the reports of the PTI, a division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni were hearing PIL on the COVID-19 situation in the state of Maharashtra.

The whole world had set its eyes on Wimbledon as it was hosting the Men’s Singles Final last week. The final was between Novak Djokovic & Matteo Berrettini. Novak was the winner & got his 20th Grand Slam title.

Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court got an inspiring remark from Wimbledon to slam on the Government.

As per the reports of the PTI, a division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni were hearing PIL on the COVID-19 situation in the state of Maharashtra.

The High Court told the Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni,  “The Wimbledon finals were the sight of the year. We don’t know if you saw it, but not a single person was wearing a mask. The stadium was jam-packed and nobody but one lone woman was wearing a mask. One Indian cricketer (Ravichandran Ashwin) was also present and he was without a mask too.”

There were various guests present at the Wimbledon including the duchess of Cambridge, to the supers star of Hollywood- Tom Cruise & the star of football- David Beckham & other famous personalities & all were without masks. “When will India see such a situation? Vaccinating everyone is the key to it,” the HC said.

As there are reports of the upcoming third wave & the mutation occurring in the virus, HC has stated that the key to avoiding all this is vaccination. Wimbledon considered as one of the most prestigious tournaments for Tennis has also set an example for various countries including India.
