World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty’s name has been removed from the WTA Rankings. The Australian had asked to eliminate her name from it in the next rankings cycle, reported WTA Insider, which means, after the ongoing tournament in Florida, Miami Open is done, there will be a new World No. 1.

The Australian Open 2022 champion had announced her sudden retirement on Wednesday at the age of 25 shocked the whole sports fraternity. Three-times Grand Slam champion told them it was a very difficult situation for her full of emotions to share the retirement news with the world.
