
American tennis player, Venus Williams has officially crashed out from the Chicago Women’s Open on Monday as she lost to Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-Wei in straight sets 6-2 and 6-3 to get eliminated in the opening stages of the tournament.
Venus Williams, the former 147 ranked in the world currently could survive for 67 minutes in the court which proved a one-sided match held at the Washington Park tennis facility on Chicago Southern side. This win for the former 81 ranked Hseih Su-Wei proved to be one of the best performances of her career as she has qualified for the next round. Taiwan player improved in her winning streak by 11-12 for the season. She also qualified for the quarter-finals of this year’s Australian Open but she ended up losing against the Japanese Ace Naomi Osaka in straight sets 6-2,6-2 respectively.
On the other hand, Venus Williams the sister of the former champion Serena Williams was once ranked no 1 in the world and now ends up in 147th rank. Her winning tally of 3-9 was the worst of her entire career which made her drop to 147th. She even lost to the 125th seed Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.
Hsieh Su-Wei delivered the most shocking performance of her career as she beat the former no 1 seeded Simona Halep in the third round of this year’s Wimbledon. The former Taiwan player had the upper hand over Venus Williams with her precision strikes and her strong serve keeping Venus clueless during the game.
