The world number four and the runner up in this year’s Wimbledon has put up an amazing 58 aces so far at the US Open this year which is by far the most of any of the remaining players left in the tournament and next faces the winner of the Greek Maria Sakkari and the Canadian Bianca Andreescu’s match in the quarter-final.

Former World No.1 Pliskova who was also a US Open runner-up in 2016 has reached the last eight stages at the US Open for the fourth time in her career with her 95-minute win over this year’s Roland Garros runner-up Pavlyuchenkova. Pliskova has been able to balance the head to head as she lost the last two matches against Pavlyuchenkova.

Pliskova said afterwards that she was super happy with the match because she lost the last two matches against her and it was important for her to get the win today. Pliskova continued by saying that somehow she played better than the Russian did and put pressure on her serve and managed to get some breakpoints today due to that.
