US Open: Novak Djokovic beats J. Brooksby in the round of 16 to qualify for the quarter-finals

The World no. 1 has beaten Jenson Brooksby in the round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals of the US Open 2021.

The Serbian professional tennis player Novak Djokovic has reached the quarterfinals of the US Open 2021 after defeating Jenson Brooksby in the round of 16 in Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York. The World No. 1 in the ATP ranking emerged as a great player after the first round huge defeat. Novak beats the American by 3-1 after four sets of the game.

Jenson won the first set of the match with such a huge margin of 6-1, Novak fans were shocked after seeing him losing to a player who is just 20-year-old and hasn’t won a single Grand Slam title in his career. But, Novak was very calm as he always is. He made an impressive revival in this game after a humiliating loss in the first set. The Serbian didn’t let Jenson took many points from him in the second set. The scoreline of the second set was 6-3 with the Serbian clinching the victory and levelling the game at 1-1.

Jenson tried hard to get into the quarter-finals, but he was playing against the player who is currently in the first position in the Association of Tennis Professionals and has a world record of being in the top for straight 337 weeks. Thus, the third and the fourth set was simple for the Serbian as he beats Jenson by the same scoreline in both (6-2) and registers himself for the quarters.
