US Open champion and tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has tested positive for COVID-19. She is forced out of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition event in Abu Dhabi which is scheduled for this week.

The British star confirmed the news of her absence at the exhibition event and said, “I was very much looking forward to playing in front of the fans here in Abu Dhabi, but unfortunately after testing positive for COVID-19, I will have to postpone until the next opportunity,” reports Reuters.

As much as the 19-year old Briton was excited to play in Abu Dhabi, the player, unfortunately, is forced out of the event and has been isolated as per the rules. If not out, she would have fought against the Olympics singles gold medalist Belinda Bencic at the event.

The organisers of the exhibition event are in search of another top-level female player who can be a candidate to replace Raducanu.

Dominic Thiem and King of Clay Rafael Nadal who missed the majors because of injury are set to be back in Abu Dhabi while Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov are some other big names who are partaking here before the 2022 season gets started in Australia.
