US Open: Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu wins in the first round match against Swiss Viktorija Golubic

Bianca Andreescu has entered into the second run of the US Open 2021 after defeating Swiss professional player Viktorija Golubic in her opening match.

The Canadian professional tennis player Bianca Andreescu defeated Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland in three sets in the US Open first-round match. The 2019 US Open Grand Slam title winner displayed a great performance on the court on Wednesday morning (IST). The game was indeed worth watching as Bianca won by 2-1 in the overall three sets played against the Swiss professional tennis player.

The 2019 US Open title winner is chasing the title again this year. However, it was not one of her best games, even then she is through to the second round of the US Open 2021. As the first set begins, Andreescu started dominating and won the set by 7-5. But the Swiss international wasn’t going to retreat after getting the loss in the first set. She also turned back and won the second set by 6-4. The final set was underway and it was the Canadian who was desperately looking for points and kept on attacking. With the help of her 7 aces in the whole game compared to Viktorija’s 0, she defeated the Swiss tennis player in the third set by 7-5 and progressed herself in round 2 of the US Open 2021.

The world’s No. 7 in the WTA rankings (Bianca Andreescu) will now be seen playing against the American professional tennis player named Lauren Davis in the second-round match which is scheduled on Thursday (IST). The officials are yet to declare the timings of the second-round match between the former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and Lauren Davis.
