Carlos Alcaraz, a tennis pro from Spain, made history on Monday by being the second-youngest player in the twenty-first century to make it to the top five of the ATP rankings. The 19-year-old is currently ranked fifth in the world. Since Rafael Nadal entered the top five in 2005 at the age of 18, he is the youngest man to accomplish this achievement.
Since his brilliant colleague Rafael Nadal initially climbed into the top five in 2005 while still 18 years old, the Spaniard is the youngest man to accomplish this feat. Alcaraz lost against Lorenzo Musetti in the Hamburg European Open final, missing out on the chance to go up to World No. 4, and was had to settle for No. 5.
Daniil Medvedev continued to hold the top spot, while 2022 Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic dropped to seventh as the grass-court Grand Slam competition lost ranking points for barring players from Russia and Belarus.
