Sumit Nagal creates history as he had his maiden win at a Grand slam of US Open

Sumit Nagal is the first Indian after 7-years to win a round at a major Grand Slam after Somdev Devvarman who had reached second round of French Open.

Sumit Nagal is the first Indian after 7-years to win a round at a major Grand Slam after Somdev Devvarman who had reached second round of French Open, US Open and Australian Open, Sumit Nagal achieved this feet by defeating United State’s Bradley Klahn 6-1, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to further qualify for the next round of the Grand slam.

With this recent performance by Nagal he becomes the first Indian after 7 years to win a singles main draw match at a Grand slam. Nagal came out with all guns blazing in the first two sets of the game by winning the sets by 6-1, 6-3 which was a major boost for Nagal, But Klan did come back in the tie in the third set and winning it by 3-6 which added more competitive spirit to the game.

The fourth set Nagal knew he will have to bounce back and not let his opponent grow in the game which could hinder his chances of winning so he gained a 5-0 lead in the forth set setting the tone for his victory. Klan did dominate a game in the forth set but Sumit Nagal won the game is exhaustive fashion, Nagal who is currently ranked 122 in world numbers will be confronting with either Austria’s Dominic Thiem or Spain’s Jaume Munar in the second round of US Open.
