Depending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas is a back to back Monte Carlo champion now. The Greek professional defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
Tsitsipas defeated Alexander Zverev previously in the semifinals where both the players survived three-hour tussles before reaching the last four. The player had earlier in a post-match interview with Tennis TV said that winning another title in Monte Carlo will be “the cherry on the pie”.
Top-seeded Tsitsipas of Greece is the only player other than Rafael Nadal to win two consecutive titles in Monte Carlo, the Spaniard has a total of eight consecutive titles of 11.
