Serena Williams to continue her return at Canadian Open next month

Williams was last seen at Wimbledon’s first round where she was defeated by Harmony Tan.

Serena Williams was back after a year in a grass tournament but that didn’t last long as she was defeated out of the Wimbledon Championships 2022 in the first round only.

Her opener exit didn’t stop her from continuing her comeback and as reported by AFP News Agency, the former World No. 1 will be seen at the next month’s WTA tournament in Canada.

The former No. 1 WTA ranked player from America was included in a star-studded roster for the August 6-14 tournament despite playing her first singles match in a year after a loss at Wimbledon last month.

Williams enters a field that has 41 of the top 43 players in the world, including two-time French Open champion and No. 1 player in the world Iga Swiatek, in the main event by using her protected ranking. The Toronto tournament’s talented roster also includes US Open champion Emma Raducanu, four-time Grand Slam champion of Japan Naomi Osaka, and emerging teenager Coco Gauff.
