Sania Mirza regrets making her retirement announcement

Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza recently announced, 2022 would be her last season, and regretting her early retirement announcement.

Sania Mirza the tennis star announced that she would retire after the 2022 season before her loss in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. Sania said she regrets making her retirement announcement at the Australian Open, on Tuesday.  She hinted at being unhappy, about shifting focus to the impending end of her well-decorated career from her game.

Sania was asked whether she changed her outlook towards the tour and tennis considering it was her last season. She replied that she is now regretting, that she made the announcement too soon as now that’s all she is being asked.

The 35-year-old most accomplished women tennis player of India, the 4-time winner of Grand Slam. Which include three mixed doubles trophies. Her decision was influenced, by her need to put more focus on her young family. And her body is also wearing down Sania said.

In the women’s double event, after facing a first-round defeat at the Australian open she made the announcement. However, at Melbourne Park, along with American Rajeev Ram in the mixed double until the quarter-finals she progressed. In the quarter-finals on Tuesday, Sania and Rajeev Ram lost their match to Jason Kubler and Jaimee Fourlis the Australian pair. Which probably could be the last time Sania played at Melbourne Park.
