The 13-times European champions Real Madrid C.F has its new famous fan revealed and the name is Leylah Fernandez. The 19-year-old is at Madrid, Spain currently for her tournament WTA Mutua Madrid Open which started on 26 April and will have it’s final on May 7.
Fernandez has already won a title this tennis season at Monterrey Open defeating Camila Osorio and is scheduled to face Jil Teichmann for her second round fixture in Madrid tomorrow.
While the Canadian is in Madrid, she revealed that her father is a big fan of the Spanish giant football club Real Madrid and that Leylah Annie Fernandez might stay more in the country so that she and her father can watch Los Blancos play. “Growing up, the No. 1 thing is my dad’s a Real Madrid fan,” the tennis professional from Canada, reported WTA Insider. She further said that it’s an honour to be in the country where the Whites (Real Madrid) have their home stadium (Santiago Bernabeu) and being there is an “extra motivation” that can power her to do better, hopefully.
“We are still here by the end of the tournament so we can watch the game.” By this statement by Leylah, it seems that she and her dad will be staying in Madrid to watch Real Madrid play. La Liga table-toppers are due to face Manchester City for their return leg next week on Thursday, May 5.
