Rafael Nadal withdraws from Wimbledon 2022

The Spaniard was expected to face Kyrgios in the semifinals of the championships.

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Wimbledon Championships 2022. The Spanish legend is 19-0 this year in Grand Slam but the injury forces him to pull out of the grass tournament as his dream for the Calender Slam is over now.

Nadal was due to face Nick Kyrgios at the semifinals of the tournament and following his withdrawal, the Australian now advances to his first Grand Slam and awaits either Novak Djokovic or Cameron Norrie. The Serb and Briton are scheduled to play in the semifinals tomorrow.

The 36-year-old from Spain started his 2022 tennis season with a fire return. He also won both the previous Grand Slams this season namely, Australian Open and his 14th Roland Garros title. The player was seen struggling against Taylor Fritz yesterday in the quarterfinals before he made it to the last four in five sets.
