Rafael Nadal is bidding for a calendar slam. The Spanish professional has already won two of the Grand Slams Australian Open and the French Open with a record-extending of 22nd majors. The player had been suffering from foot injuries. He even complained about the disturbances during several events this year.
Nadal, after his historic 14th Roland Garros title in Paris, France told he will have to find a permanent solution for his foot and will be participating in the third Grand Slam if his foot allows. Meanwhile, while the 36-year-old is one of the favourites in the tournament talked about his injury. “I can walk normal most of the days. When I wake up, I don’t have the pain that I had in the last year and a half. The overall feelings are positive,” as reported by tennis journalist Luigi Gatto.
Nadal, who missed several events and majors last year due to his foot injury is bidding for a calendar slam this year and is a heavy favourite at the 2022 men’s singles championships while the other two are defending champion Novak Djokovic and emerging star of Spain Carlos Alcaraz.
