Rafael Nadal keeps extending his undefeated streak. The Spaniard has once again outlasted future World No. 1, Daniil Medvedev, with the score of 6-3, 6-3 as he reaches his 5th career final in Acapulco. The duo had faced each other at the final of the Australian Open 2022.
Nadal missed majors including Tokyo Olympics the previous year following injury. He was also sidelined with a foot injury for four months. The Spanish professional then bounced back this year with an ATP Cup Summerset trophy in Melbourne followed by his historical win at the first Grand Slam of the year where he won a record of 21st Grand Slam surpassing Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
The Serb and the Swiss currently tie with 20 Grand Slams each. Federer hasn’t talked about his comeback yet, while Djokovic was knocked out of Dubai Tennis Championship recently losing his World No. 1 ranking. Medvedev will be ranked No. 1 this week following his run at the Mexican Open.
