Rafael Nadal plans to travel London for Wimbledon

Wimbledon, where no ATP/WTA points will be awarded this year, starts this month on June 27th and will run until July 10

Rafael Nadal has already won both the Grand Slams of the year in Australia and France and is now planning to bid for his third in the upcoming major that is scheduled to commence at the end of the month. Nadal has 22 Grand Slams, two more than rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic having 20 each

The Spaniard has been suffering from injuries because of which he had to skip several events and majors last year. The 36-year-old started his year with fire come back but it all came with while he had to play with discomfort foot. The player has complained about his foot troubling him several times. During his 22nd major win at the Roland Garros this year where he won a record-extending 14th French Open title, the player said he might be taking a break to recover from foot problems and if his foot allows he will be taking part at the Wimbledon championships.

Wimbledon, where no ATP/WTA points will be awarded this year, starts this month on June 27th and will run until July 10. Rafa in a press conference in Mallorca said, “intention is to try to play” Wimbledon. He also further told that he will be travelling to London next week if everything goes well.
