Rafael Nadal back to court after welcoming first baby

The player has now returned to tennis after welcoming his first child. He has not played any singles match since his US Open loss this year.

Rafael Nadal and his wife Mery Perello had a newborn son three days ago. Nadal is spending time with his family, having fun, and returning to the practise court to work on his game in preparation for Paris and Turin.

Rafa has had great year both personally and professionally despite all the challenges and injuries. Rafa had to start over in 2022 because he only participated in two matches during the second half of 2021. The Spaniard, who was battling with a left foot issue brought up his health aa he often does and  had successful start to the month of January. Rafa surpassed Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the rankings after winning the first two Majors of the season. He now leads with 22 Grand Slams.

A four-time US Open winner lost to Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the New York tournament, squandering the opportunity to compete for the season’s third Major title. After competing in the Laver Cup alongside Roger Federer, Nadal will spend the coming weeks relaxing with his family. The player has now returned to tennis after welcoming his first child. He has not played any singles match since his US Open loss this year.

Rafa is still in the running to become the year-end No. 1 player for the first time in three years, so he will do everything in his power to get well in time for Paris and Turin.
