Novak Djokovic makes another record at the ongoing tournament ATP Mutua Madrid Open 2022. The 20-times Grand Slam champion just won his opener at Madrid, Spain against Gael Monfils to have a dominating 18-0 head to head record against the Frenchman.
The Serb did not have a very positive tennis season start as he missed the Australian Open where he couldn’t defend his title following controversial vaccination status that had his visa cancelled twice and he was deported from Melbourne. 34-year-old then kicked off his 2022 tennis season at Dubai Tennis Championships where he was defeated by Jiri Vesely in the quarterfinals. He then was outlasted by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at Monte Carlo Masters in Round of 32. After two early exits, the No. 1 ATP player reaches the final on home soil in Serbia but was then defeated by Andrey Rublev.
Top-seeded Djokovic seems to have his form back ahead of a major clay tournament in France. As the player makes the record of having dominating head to head record against 35-year-old Monfils, let’s have a look at some of the other dominating head to head records.
