According to a report by AFP News Agency, Greek in an interview on Thursday said that Novak Djokovic has put the Australian Open at risk and made other tennis players ” look like fools” after travelling to Australia unvaccinated.

The Greek player who lost to the top-seeded Serb at the Roland Garros final said that the player is following his rules. “For sure he has been playing by his own rules,” said Tsitsipas in an interview with WION (Indian broadcaster).

Stefanos thinks that while the majority of the players who are participating in the first Grand Slam of the year are having vaccines against COVID-19 and following the protocols, “chose to follow their own way which kind of makes the majority look like they’re all fools.”

Stefanos was caught up in the discussions for his controversial statement about vaccination after which the player was highly criticised. He later said that he will be vaccinated if the tournament (Australian Open) asks for it.

Meanwhile, Djokovic, who was detained and his VISA git cancelled in Melbourne, was later allowed in the first round draw of the Grand Slam after the Serbian won the court hearing in his favour on Monday. Scott Morrison, the prime minister of Australia has said that it’s still not clear if his VISA can be cancelled again.

World No. 1 is claiming to defend his 21st Grand Slam and to grab his 10th Australian Open title while he continues to play in Melbourne despite the controversial topic.
