Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka is all praise for current World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. The Japanese professional faced Poland’s Swiatek at the final of the Indian Wells Masters.
Both the player have been seen interacting several times off-court as well. Before their final clash at Miami, the two faced each other in a video call to talk about their favourite ice cream flavours. Swiatek and Osaka have also been seen appreciating each other and supporting through social media with several stories and congratulating each other on their success.
The 20-year-old is on her 23-game winning streak and has already won four WTA titles this season so far. She recently beat top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka at the Stuttgart Open final to win her fourth in a row. Following her tremendous form that stunned everyone, four times Grand Slam champion Osaka had some praising words for Swiatek. The player from Japan, who is currently one of the heavy favourites at the WTA Mutua Madrid Open after the No. 1 seeded withdrew due to a right shoulder injury, said, “I think it’s really awesome what she’s doing,” reported WTA Tour. She further stated that she could also win four tournaments in a row like Swiatek.
Osaka is currently practising for her performance on clay in Madrid, Spain with some changes.
