John McEnroe talks about Rafael Nadal’s qualities, calls him “unbelievable”

At the Canadian Open, which starts on August 5 in Montreal at the IGA Stadium, Nadal is expected to make his professional debut.

American former tennis player John McEnroe has never seen someone like Rafael Nadal. The former ace recently talked about the Spaniard’s “unbelievable” qualities.

I’ve never seen anyone like him,” McEnroe told Tennis365. He further said, “I thought Jimmy Connors tried hard until I saw Rafael Nadal, this is insane. And that’s the greatest quality he has, by far.”

Nadal was last seen at the quarter-finals of Wimbledon this year where he defeated Taylor Fritz to reach the semifinals but was forced to withdraw against Nick Kyrgios. The Championships was later won by Novak Djokovic where he bagged his 21st Grand Slam defeating Kyrgios.

Meanwhile, the 22 times major champion Nadal has returned to the court on Monday after more than a fortnight off to recover from the abdominal injury he sustained at the grass-court 2022. The Spanish professional hopes to rejoin the ATP tour early next month. At the Canadian Open, which starts on August 5 in Montreal at the IGA Stadium, Nadal is expected to make his professional debut. Serena Williams is also continuing her 2022 debut next month in Canada. The American tennis legend’s 2022 tennis season debuted on the grass court didn’t go well as she was defeated in the first round only at Wimbledon against Harmony Tan.
