Despite winning Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic falls huge in ATP Rankings

The Serb won the seventh Wimbledon title yesterday by defeating Nick Kyrgios of Australia with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3).

Due to the contentious decision of the men’s tour governing body to not give ranking points for the Grand Slam event, Novak Djokovic dropped four spots to seventh place in the world rankings on Monday even though he retained his Wimbledon championship.

ATP and WTA announced to not award any ranking points at this year’s Wimbledon Championships in response to the major event banning the players from Russia and Belarus due to which, Djokovic was unable to defend his 2000 ranking points.
