Christina Mchale and Sania Mirza storm through the semi-finals of the Cleveland Women’s Open

The Indian-American pair have officially qualified for the semi-finals by beating them 6-3,6-3 in straight sets.

On Thursday night, Sania Mirza of India and Christina Mchale of the United States of America easily stormed through the semi-finals of the Tennis in the land tournament by beating the No 3 seeded pair Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic and Shuai Zhang of China by beating comfortably on straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to win. They dethroned the no 3 seeded pair in just under an hour and a minute as they played brilliantly.

The duo pair of Mirza and Mchale performed phenomenally to earn their spot in the semi-finals. They are yet to drop a set in the tournament after they defeated Andreea Mitu of Romania and Oksana Kalashnikova of Georgia 6-3,6-2 in the first round itself.

The Indian-American duo impressed everyone on the first service which is 78.9% and converted five out of the nine break points to claim a smashing victory. Now they will take on Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway and Catherine Harrison of the United States of America in a tough clash in the upcoming semi-finals. Mirza and Mchale have been proven to be the favourites to win the tournament as they proved to be stronger contenders with their agility and strong services. The entire fan base of India has been proud of them as they were showered with love and also wished the duo the best of luck for their semi-final game.
