Chris Evert reacts to Djokovic’s “we played more matches than any other rivalry” statement

Djokovic and Nadal have played 59 times together, making it the most frequent rivalry in men’s tennis during the Open Era.

The Serbian player claimed that Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have played more matches against one another than any other rivalry in tennis history during a press conference for the 2022 Tel Aviv Open, “We played more matches against each other than any other rivalry in the history of tennis.”

Djokovic and Nadal have played 59 times together, making it the most frequent rivalry in men’s tennis during the Open Era. However, there are only a few rivalries that have had more games, including Chris Evert vs. Martina Navratilova. The two legendary players played 80 games between 1973 and 1988, with Navratilova winning 43 of matches. A supporter pointed out the blunder on social media by mentioning both Navratilova and Evert in their message. Evert just replied to Djokovic’s comments with the word “Oops.”
