Australian Open: Medvedev reach finals of Australian Open after defeating Tsitsipas


The Russian Tennis player, Daniil Medvedev book the final berth in the Australian Open first time ever after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-finals on Friday. He defeated Tsitsipas in all three sets and dominated the game from the start. He will now play against World Number one player Novak Djokovic in the finals.

The World number 4, Medvedev also extended his winning streak to 20 after outplaying his opponent in 2 hours and 9 minutes. Medvedev dominated the game against Tsitsipas and won the match by 6-4, 6-2, 7-5. Tsitsipas played well against Novak but could not perform better in front of Russian Tennis star Medvedev.

Novak Djokovic entered the finals of the tournament earlier on Thursday after defeating Russia’s Aslan Karatsev 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena. Now, Medvedev and Djokovic will face each other in the finals of the tournament in the summit clash on Sunday.
