Australian Open 2022: Sania Mirza couldn’t make it to the semis

India’s Sania Mirza along with her American partner Rajeev Ram loses to Australian players Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler in the mixed doubles quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

Indian Tennis player, Sania Mirza with her American Partner, Rajeev Ram could not mark their entry to the semis as they lose to Australian Players, Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler in the mixed doubles quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

The Aussies have beaten the Sania-Ram duo by 6-4, 7-6(7-5) on Tuesday at the Margaret Court Arena.

After the Indo-American duo had such a great run at the tournament, it’s now time for them to see off the title.

Sania- Ram loses in the first set, which kept their opponents in advantage. After they lost the first set, Sania-Ram managed to take a lead in the second set.

They were giving a great tussle to Jaime-Jason in the second set but could not succeed as the Aussies made an outstanding comeback, and leveled the score at 5-5.

Sania Mirza’s journey that started with a run to the third round of the singles competition in 2005 has come to an end. Sania has won 10 singles and 13 doubles titles as a junior player. She had won the 2003 Wimbledon Championships Girl’s doubles title partnering with Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova.

The former world no.1 doubles champion has won six Grand Slam titles in doubles (three women and three mixed).

Sania Mirza had already said that she is going to take retirement after she finishes this 2022 season.
