Australia Open: Ashleigh Barty qualifies to the second round after beating Lesia Tsurenko

Australian Tennis Player Ash Barty makes her mark in the second round as she beats Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko at Australia Open. World’s No.1 Tennis player, Ash Barty starts her Australia Open campaign by thrashing Lesia Tsurenko ranking 113, 6-0, 6-1 on Monday.

Ash Barty has been in fantastic form this season. After bagging the title of 2020 Adelaide International, she carried that same energy in the match against Tsurenko at Rod Laver Arena.

The 25-year-old wasted two points that would have led Lesia Tsurenko the dreaded double bagel and the other two as she served for the match, but she managed to snatch the game with a strong serve down the ‘T’.

Ash Barty has won 14 singles and 12 doubles titles on the WTA tour, also including the two Grand Slam titles in singles and one in doubles, finishing as the year-end world no. 1 Tennis player in singles in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Ash Barty’s next match is against Italian Tennis player Lucia Bronzetti to mark her position for the third round which is on January 19.

Lucia Bronzetti ranking 148, has reached seven singles finals at the ITF circuit with a record of four triumphs. She has also reached four double finals with a record of two wins.
