ATP Finals draw out, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in different groups

Djokovic and Nadal were drawn into two different groups as the ATP Finals draw come out.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic won’t be playing in the same group, according to the Nitto ATP Finals draw that came out on Thursday.

Nadal is the top seed for the yearly championships for a fifth time. The current Australian Open and Roland Garros champion from Spain will make a bid to take home the season-ending trophy for the first time.

The Green group, which also includes Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, and Felix Auger-Aliassime, is led by Rafael Nadal. The seventh-seeded Novak Djokovic will attempt to make history at the Pala Alpitour since a victory there might tie him with Roger Federer, who has won six Nitto ATP Finals championships. Red Group leader Stefanos Tsitsipas is joined by Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Andrey Rublev.

The three athletes that have won the Nitto ATP Finals are Djokovic, Medvedev, and Tsitsipas.

Additionally announced on Thursday was the doubles draw. Along with Nikola Mektic/Mate Pavic, Ivan Dodig/Austin Krajicek, and Thanasi Kokkinakis/Nick Kyrgios, top seeds Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski head the Green Group.

The team took home the No. 1 Pepperstone ATP Doubles Team Ranking for the entire year in Paris. The leaders of Red Group are Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, along with Marcelo Arevalo/Jean-Julien Rojer, Lloyd Glasspool/Harri Heliovaara, and Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos.
