Star footballer and Indian Football Team’s skipper Sunil Chhetri on Thursday informed that he has tested positive for Covid-19. He took it to Twitter and said he was “fine” and recovering and soon would be seen on the field. “In a not-so-happy update, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. In better news, I feel fine as I continue my recovery from the virus and should be back on a football pitch soon,” Chhetri tweeted.

“No better time to keep reminding everyone to continue taking all the safety precautions always,” he added.
Chhetri represented Bengaluru FC in the seventh season of the Indian Super League. Though it was a fruitless season for the blues as they finished seventh in the points table after the group stage matches.
India will play back-to-back international matches against Oman and UAE in Dubai. Last week, Chhetri’s name was added to the 35-member list of probable players who might take part in the upcoming international matches.
