The incident took place in the middle session when players were having the drinks break. The incident recorded in the stump cam showed that Steve Smith walking up to the batting crease and scuffing Rishab pant’s batting mark on crease.
‘Once a cheat always a cheat’ trends all over in the social media after the incident occured. after break pant came back and searching the mark at the end he had to ask the umpire for it.
However smit’s face was not available on the camera but his jersey number 49 was there, which clearly indicated that Smit is the one to remove the guard marks from the crease.
Not only fans but also many David Lloyd and Former Indian Batsman Virendra Sehwag reacted to smit’s shadow batting
Tried all tricks including Steve Smith trying to remove Pant's batting guard marks from the crease. Par kuch kaam na aaya. Khaaya peeya kuch nahi, glass toda barana.
But I am so so proud of the effort of the Indian team today. Seena chonda ho gaya yaar. pic.twitter.com/IfttxRXHeM— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) January 11, 2021
